Unix Timestamp Converter
Convert between Unix timestamps and human-readable dates in both directions. Paste a timestamp in seconds or milliseconds to see the local date, UTC time, and ISO 8601 string — or pick a date and time to get the matching timestamp instantly.

Date to timestamp
How it works
Enter a Unix timestamp and choose whether it's in seconds or milliseconds — the most common source of confusion when working with timestamps. The converter immediately shows the matching local date and time, the UTC time, and the ISO 8601 string. To go the other way, pick a date and time and get the equivalent timestamp in both seconds and milliseconds.
Tip
Unix timestamps count seconds (or milliseconds) since January 1, 1970 UTC. Most databases and APIs use seconds, while JavaScript's Date.now() and many web APIs use milliseconds — if your dates look wildly wrong, try switching the unit.
Why does the date-to-timestamp picker use my local time?
The date and time picker is interpreted in your browser's local timezone, which avoids ambiguity — what you pick is exactly the moment you mean, and the resulting timestamp is always in UTC seconds since the epoch, so it converts correctly no matter where you or your server are located.
