Running Pace Calculator
Enter a distance and the time it took you to cover it, and this calculator works out your pace (minutes per kilometer or mile) and speed — plus predicted finish times for 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon at that same pace.
Predicted finish times
| 5K | 0:25:00 |
| 10K | 0:50:00 |
| Half marathon | 1:45:29 |
| Marathon | 3:30:59 |
How it works
Pace is your total time divided by distance, shown as minutes:seconds per kilometer or mile. Speed is simply your distance divided by time, converted to a per-hour rate. The finish-time table applies that same pace to the standard race distances.
Tip
Race predictions assume you can hold exactly the same pace for the whole distance, which gets less realistic the longer the race — use them as a starting estimate, not a guarantee.
Why are the race distances fixed?
5K, 10K, half marathon (21.0975 km) and marathon (42.195 km) are the official standard race distances, so the predicted times are always calculated from those exact figures regardless of which unit you display your own pace in.
