BPM Tap Tempo
Tap the button in time with the beat of any song, and this tool works out the tempo in beats per minute (BPM) from the intervals between your taps. Handy for DJs, musicians, and producers who need to match a track's tempo or set a metronome by ear.
How it works
Tap the button in rhythm with the beat, at least a few times in a row. The tool measures the time between consecutive taps and averages the last several intervals to work out the tempo in beats per minute, updating live as you tap. Pause for more than about two seconds and the next tap starts a fresh session.
Tip
For the most accurate reading, keep tapping for eight beats or more instead of just two or three — averaging more taps smooths out small timing variations in your rhythm.
