Tuner
This browser-based tuner uses your microphone to detect the pitch you are playing in real time, showing the closest note and how many cents sharp or flat you are — no app installation required.
How it works
Press "Start" and allow microphone access, then play or sing a single, sustained note. The tuner analyzes the sound wave using autocorrelation to find its fundamental frequency, then compares it to the nearest note on the chromatic scale, using A4 = 440 Hz as the reference pitch.
Tip
Tune in a quiet room and let each note ring out clearly on its own — background noise and chords make it harder to get an accurate reading.
Why does the microphone not work?
Microphone access requires a secure connection (HTTPS) or localhost — it will not work over a plain, unencrypted HTTP page.
