This browser-based metronome keeps a steady, precisely-timed beat between 40 and 240 BPM — perfect for practicing an instrument, no app install required.
How it works
Set your tempo in beats per minute (BPM) with the slider, then press "Start". The metronome uses your browser's audio clock, not a simple timer, so the beat stays accurate even in a background tab.
Tip
A typical practice tempo is 60–120 BPM. Start slow and increase the tempo as you get comfortable.
Why do I need to press Start first?
Browsers only allow audio to play after a direct interaction, so the click sound starts the moment you press the button.
